Great Start at the Bay!

Over 200 parents and students attended Open House on August 20th at Carvers Bay Middle School! Principal Comeletia Pyatt greeted the parents with excitement and high expectations for a successful school year. After faculty and staff introductions, Mrs. Pyatt discussed the various initiatives in place at Carvers Bay Middle including TAP, Making Middle Grades Work, Balanced Literacy, and the addition of a Behavior Intervention Specialist. Mrs. Pyatt discussed the 6th grade schedule with parents which includes 90 minute classes and an A/B schedule for Science, Social Studies, and Exploratory classes. She also commented on the good behavior that students have already displayed this week by following the rules and maintaining low noise levels in the hall. After the meeting, parents were able to visit with the teachers. There were smiles throughout the building as parents, students, and teachers discussed the upcoming year!
