Grandparents Enjoy Their Day at WES

Recently Waccamaw Elementary welcomed hundreds of grandparents to the school. The day began with breakfast provided by the WES PTA and was followed by a program in the gymnasium. PTA president Jennifer Scully welcomed everyone as did Principal Vervatine Reid. Music was provided by several classes of students and then the WES Grandparent of the Year, Pat McGraph, talked about her experiences as both a grandparent and a substitute teacher at WES. Following the program, grandparents were invited to their grandchildren’s classrooms for a visit. There was lots of learning, stories, hugs, and fun.
