Sampit Principal Serves on Blue Ribbon Committee

Sampit Elementary School Principal Dr. Maudest Rhue-Scott was selected to attend the Blue Ribbon National Schools Award Program Nov. 3 in Washington, D.C.  The event was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.  She served as a member of a three-person panel.  The panel discussed the value of the Blue Ribbon Award and the effect of the Blue Ribbon Award on their school and community and how it continues to inspire achievement.  She was selected based on Sampit's 2005 Blue Ribbon recognition and her school's data.  In addition, she was nominated by the representatives from the Blue Ribbon National School Department who visited Sampit Elementary School during the nomination process    Also, she was selected for the panel by a representative of the National Blue Ribbon School Program who visited Sampit during the nomination process in 2005.
