Waccamaw Middle Wins Junior Academic Bowl

Waccamaw Middle School won Georgetown County School District's annual Junior Academic Bowl January 26. Waccamaw Middle edged Rosemary Middle 18-16 in the finals to capture the tournament championship at the J.B. Beck Administration and Education Center. Also competing in the event were Georgetown and Carvers Bay middle schools. While Waccamaw was the overall team winner, Rosemary's Will Freeman was the evening's individual star, correctly answering an amazing 42 questions, almost twice as many as the next best individual. Joining Freeman on All-Star Team were Waccamaw's Robert Jones and Davis Eddy; Rosemary's Joseph Bailey; and Georgetown's Ben Wilkins.
