HAC Students Learn About Fiber Optics

Howard Adult Center Director Jim Ferdon recently provided his students with the opportunity to attend an informational meeting at the school for students interested in a career in fiber optics. APSI is a training provider in fiber optics and cable. Company CEO Mike Menter and Senior Vice President Marvin Kelly spoke with potential students about the two-week training being offered by their company at HGTC. The participants will receive certification in fiber optics and premise cable. On hand to answer questions about the HGTC part in the training was Randy Black, HGTC assistant VP of continuing education. Ferdon said "The two-week certification process will offer students the opportunity to seek employment in a growing industry. I am looking forward to sponsoring more events in partnership with APSI and HGTC."
