District Receives IP Grants
Georgetown County School District has received International Paper Foundation Grants in the amount of $22,688. A special thank you was expressed to IP Communications Manager Kim Gill and members of the grant education selection committee at the February 16 School Board meeting. Those attending from IP were Felicia Wilson, Ramona Forbes, Doug Bray, Johnny Wilson, and Gill.
These projects that received IP grants are focused on the district's initiatives in Literacy and Science Inquiry. The projects will commence immediately and will provide the resources for projects this semester. International Paper has begun solicitation of new projects so that their impact on the education of the students in our county may receive other awards for the 2010 - 2011 school year.
