Support Staff of the Year Finalists Announced

Finalists have been announced for the Georgetown County School District 2010 Support Staff of the Year Award. The five finalists are: Alfair Ward, media clerk, Carvers Bay High; Allyson Smith, instructional assistant, Kensington Elementary; Geraldine Green, bus driver, Maryville Elementary; Nancy Hudson, registered nurse, Sampit Elementary; and Penny Cooper, administrative bookkeeper, district office.

District Superintendent Dr. Randy Dozier and Director of Human Resources Janice J. Cox, along with each respective school principal or supervisor, notified the finalists February 26. The winner will be announced at the annual Support Staff of the Year Awards Luncheon, May 5, in the Board Room of the J.B. Beck Administration and Education Center.

Olean Avant, secretary, Andrews Elementary; Randolph Pope, custodian, Andrews High; Christine Goss, instructional assistant, Brown’s Ferry Elementary; Christine Pittman, custodian, Carvers Bay Middle; Floyd Tisdale, building manager, Georgetown High; Debra Hazel, administrative aide, Georgetown Middle; Curtis Orange, building manager, Howard Adult/Optional Education; Linda Jayroe, instructional assistant, McDonald Elementary; Evelyn Miller, assistant food service manager, Plantersville Elementary; McArthur Mention, building manager, Pleasant Hill Elementary; Kathy Porter, SASI clerk, Rosemary Middle; Michael Grant, building manager, Waccamaw Elementary; Laureen Kies, guidance clerk, Waccamaw High; Patricia Grate, instructional assistant, Waccamaw Intermediate; Brenda Keel, clerical assistant, Waccamaw Middle; and Elliott Brown, maintenance foreman, Maintenance and Operations.
