CBHS Betas Win State Contest

The Beta Club from Carvers Bay High took home the overall win for the banner competition at the state convention in Columbia on February 19-20. The students were ecstatic because they had placed before but never won. Janae Bradford performed in the special talent competition and made it to the finals. The 10 students who went to the convention were Brantay Cohens, Carmen Ruffin, Faith Holmes, Trevian Loveless, Qushaun Gibson, Kiara Wilson, Matthew Castle, Christina Frink, Navjot Kaur, and Bradford. Four of these students served on the banner committee including Steven Lavender, who is not pictured. The sponsors for this group are Vernetta Dekine and Wanella Ladson. The group received an invitation to the national competition in Louisville, Kentucky, and a plaque for its victory.
