Georgetown Middle's Knapp Wins Golden Apple
Doing a job well done is a direct reflection of the love you have for your job. That is very evident in Cissy Knapp, a 7th grade math teacher at Georgetown Middle. As an educator for the past 41 years (past 10 with Georgetown County), Knapp has seen many changes within our education system, but has embraced and taken advantage of all the new technology and resources available to her and her students. She teaches them not only math basics but basics for life. In addition to her regular classroom duties, Knapp has been the Academic Fair team coach for four years and can often be found after school helping students who need additional assistance with math. She is an asset to her school, students, parents and community. Knapp was nominated by Melissa Eaddy and receives an award certificate, a golden apple pin and gift, and a cash prize. At left, presenting Knapp with a check, is Georgetown Kraft Credit Union's Nikki Ewing.
