The technology upgrades included in the building program enabled the district to place an integrated communication system (ICS) in each school. This ICS system puts all communication and multimedia control and monitoring functions together into a master system giving complete and immediate access to all facility resources from every classroom. The computer network infrastructure upgrade provided 6 data outlets in every classroom, 32 data outlets in labs, and 1 or more data outlets in every workspace or special area as indicated by the architectural drawing. Each data communication closet is connected via fiber optic cable to the LAN's backbone. The communication closets handle data utilizing Cisco switches. The majority of the district's data drops are 100/1000 MHz capable with 1000 MHZ backbone connectivity to all closets.
