Lynne B. Ford knows the potential and power of strong community.  She has committed her life to developing healthy partnerships in a variety of worlds:  entrepreneurial, nonprofit, industrial, academic, and community service.  Building capacity, mobilizing connections, and communicating to and across a wide range of people are strong suits for Lynne.  She has led, managed, administered, served, facilitated, mentored and volunteered her way around Georgetown County, and geographies beyond, in a career that spans nearly 30 years.

With a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Lynne understands the importance of using accurate and timely information to support positive change.  She is currently the Associate Director at Helping Hands of Georgetown, Inc. and an independent consultant for a health/wellness company. Her work experience integrates her passion for effective communication with a practical sense of knowing how organizations reach goals and sustain overall wellbeing.  She worked in industry as communications manager for International Paper in Georgetown and later held varying positions of leadership in the nonprofit world, namely the former Georgetown County United Way and then the United Way Association of SC.

Lynne is also a writer and lives in Pawleys Island, is happily married to Rev. Johnny A. Ford, and is a proud and loving mother of two talented sons—one a college freshman and another at Waccamaw High.
