The combined academic team from Waccamaw Middle & Waccamaw Intermediate defeated Georgetown Middle 22-5 in the final round of the 2023 Junior Academic Bowl held March 2 at the J.B. Beck Administration and Education Center. Also competing were teams from Carvers Bay Middle, Coastal Montessori Charter, and Rosemary Middle.

All-Star Team members, and the number of correct answers provided, were Banks Hardin, 28, WMS; JJ Huntoon, 15, WMS; Emery Moyer, 15, GMS; Charles Paris, 10, CMCS; Jairo Ramos, 7, WMS; Riley Skochin, 5, CMCS; and Green Chapman, 5, CBMS.
