It is with great pride that we recognize Jennifer Hagaman as Georgetown County Adult Education’s Teacher of the Year for 2026–2027.
Ms. Hagaman brings an extraordinary depth of experience and dedication to the classroom, with 44 years in education, including 12 years devoted to Adult Education. She currently teaches Social Studies and Language Arts, guiding students as they work toward earning their GED and building pathways to brighter futures.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hagaman has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student success, meeting learners where they are and empowering them with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to achieve their goals. Her passion for education, coupled with her ability to inspire and uplift adult learners, makes her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.

The 2025-2026 Support Staff of the Year for Georgetown County Adult Education is Mrs. Linda Vereen. Mrs. Vereen works as the school College and Career Navigator. CONGRATULATIONS MRS. Vereen!
Georgetown County Adult Education attended the Fall Training November 1, 2024 in Columbia, SC. This years theme was to "Embrace Your Story" Those attending were Dr. Paula Anderson, Jennifer Hagaman, Brandy Caroway, Tina GIlliard-Rice, and Michelle Alston. The following were training session each attended. - AI for GED Teacher Planning, Data Scavenge Hunt, TABE 13/14: What to Expect, Early Wins for Lasting Success: Focused Pathways to GED Science and GED Social Studies Achievement, and Math Strategies for Adult Learners.
Two of our very own, Jennifer Hagaman and Brandy Caroway were presenters at the AI for GED teacher planning. The session was to assist teachers with an understanding of how to us AI programs to generate lesson plans, plan mini lessons, and create worksheets to practice skills. teachers were able to walk away with tangible products to use for planning and enhancing lessons in the classroom.
The 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year for Georgetown County Adult Education is Mrs Brandy Caroway. Brandy works with the High School Diploma students and the Language Arts for GED. CONGRATULATIONS MRS. CAROWAY
