Georgetown County School District has named two teachers Rookie of the Year for 2022-2023. Luisa Andrada, Carvers Bay Middle, and Ansley Ellis, Maryville Elementary, were each named GCSD 2022-2023 Rookie Teacher of the Year at the May 17 Induction Celebration. Other finalists were: Joseph Lopes, Georgetown High; Dedric Bonds, Rosemary Middle; Bridget Wheeler, Andrews Elementary; and Meghan Klaich, Waccamaw Middle.
Other school level Rookie of the Year teachers are: Chelsea Howard, McDonald Elementary; Tevin Wallace, Andrews High; Kendal Blakely, Kensington Elementary; Jessica Tadlock, Sampit Elementary; Deissy Velandia, Waccamaw High; Jessica Abercrombie, Georgetown Middle; and Logan Kingsbury, Carvers Bay High.
