Georgetown, S.C. - The Georgetown County School District Board of Trustees gave final approval to the 2023-2024 General Fund Budget on June 27, 2023. The General Fund Budget includes salaries & fringe benefits, purchased services, supplies, and other operating costs (including Coastal Montessori Charter School) totaling $108.2 million.
With 86.9% of the approved budget dedicated to salaries and related fringe benefits, notable highlights include:
* A $2,500 salary increase for teachers
* Base salary for bus drivers raised to $17.30 per hour
* Minimum base salary for classified employees raised to $14 per hour
* A 2% increase for all other employees
* Increased stipends for athletics to include additional days and assistant coaching positions
* Implementation of paid parental leave
* Increased substitute base pay to $14 per hour
* Additional teaching positions
