Along with sharing information on our websites and sending emails, we now have the capabilities to send robo call, text messages, and push notifications. Mark your calendar! GCSD has designated eleven days for staff development and/or teacher preparation during the 2023-2024 school year. These days allow teachers an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues, purposefully plan instruction, finalize grades, and grow their professional skills to continue to provide high quality instruction for all students. Save the Date: Middle and High School Parenting Event - October 19, 2023 GCSD is hosting a middle and high school parenting event on Thursday, October 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom at the J B Beck Administration & Education Center. Georgetown native Camaehia Johnson will be the guest speaker and will share highlights from her book "Say It . . . Aloud!" Keeping You Informed: Back to School The first day of school is just around the corner! We're excited for the return of students on Thursday, August 3, 2023. We encourage all families to complete online registration (https://gcsd.powerschool.com/public) as soon as possible, including providing proof of residency. Proof of residency can be uploaded during online registration (prior to submission) or turned in to your student's school. Failure to completed online registration and/or provide proof of residency will cause delays with placing your student(s) on a class roster and/or scheduling their classes. All GCSD students to receive free breakfast and lunch during 2023-24 school year During June 27, 2023 Board Work Session, the GCSD Board of Trustees adopted a resolution indicating their participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the School Lunch Act. Under the resolution, all students enrolled in a school in Georgetown County School District (GCSD) will be offered FREE breakfast and lunch during the 2023-24 school year. #GCSD #SchoolLunchesRock
