Georgetown Middle School Students and Staff Bring Home Top Honors

Georgetown County, SC โ€” Georgetown Middle School is celebrating a major victory as students and staff showcased their talent, creativity, and innovation at the GCSD Tech Fair 2026. Under the leadership of Media Specialist Mrs. Jenny Cox, the GMS Tech Crew delivered an outstanding performance, earning multiple top awards and proving that BIG BLUE excellence is alive and thriving.

The Tech Fair highlighted student achievements across a variety of categories, including audio production, graphic design, animation, and innovation. Georgetown Middle School students rose to the occasion, earning several first-place titles and demonstrating their skills in both creativity and technology.

Leading the charge, students Vickie Keller and Riley Fulton earned 1st Place in Audio Production for their project Snack Tax, under the guidance of Ms. Irvin. Their project stood out for its originality and strong production quality.

In the Graphic Design category, Cole Duke and Finn Wilson secured 1st Place with their project All About the Black Death, sponsored by Ms. Weissmeier. Their work combined historical research with visually engaging design elements.

Another standout achievement came from Lucy George, who earned 1st Place in Internet Website for her project Discovering Career Options Through Georgetown County Schools, representing Winchester. Her project highlighted real-world connections and future career pathways for students.

Innovation was also on full display as Dion Ford and Morgan Camden received 2nd Place in Innovation for their project Air Floating Turbine, under the direction of Mr. Siblag. Their work demonstrated forward-thinking ideas and problem-solving skills.

In the field of animation, Mason Bonds earned 1st Place in Animation/3D Modeling for his project The Art of Engineering, sponsored by Mrs. Jenny Cox. His project showcased both technical ability and artistic creativity.

Adding to the celebration, Mrs. Jenny Cox was recognized as an Innovative Educator (Grades 6โ€“8) and Best in Show, a prestigious honor that highlights her dedication to student success and excellence in technology education.

This incredible showing at the GCSD Tech Fair reflects the hard work, commitment, and passion of both students and staff at Georgetown Middle School. Their achievements not only bring pride to the school but also demonstrate the power of creativity, collaboration, and innovation in education.
