🎉💙 A STICKY (and SUPER FUN) SUCCESS at WES! 💙🎉

Yesterday was a tape-tacular day at Waccamaw Elementary School as our students took part in our very first-ever “Duct Tape the Principals” event!

On Monday, students brought in $1 per piece of duct tape (up to 5 pieces each), and today they lined the halls with huge smiles and even bigger laughs as they got their chance to tape Mrs. Cameron and Mr. Del Bagno to the wall! 💙

Let’s just say our principals were stuck in the best way possible! 😄

We’re beyond thrilled to share that thanks to our amazing students, staff, and families, we raised over $800 to support the GCSD Future Educators Scholarships! 💙

This was the first time WES has hosted an event like this — and it was a HUGE success! The excitement, teamwork, and laughter reminded us what makes Waccamaw Elementary such a special place to learn and grow. 💙

A giant THANK YOU to everyone who donated, participated, and cheered along the way — your support truly makes a difference! 💙

📸💙 Check out some of the fun from today’s event! 💙

🔥 Fire Safety Week at Waccamaw Elementary! 🔥

This week, our Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-grade students had a special visit from Midway Fire & Rescue on Wednesday and Thursday! 🚒👩‍🚒

The firefighters taught our students all about fire safety, including important lessons like:

How to Stop, Drop, and Roll 🌀
Crawling low under smoke
Knowing when to call 911 for an emergency
Creating a family safety plan with a meeting place outside 🏡
Practicing fire drills at home

Students also watched a firefighter put on their gear piece by piece, learning the importance of each item and why it’s nothing to be afraid of. They were reminded not to hide from firefighters during an emergency.

To wrap up the visit, classes got to see the fire trucks up close and explore the different tools firefighters use to keep our community safe! 🚨

👉 Community invite: Midway Fire & Rescue is hosting an Open House tomorrow, Saturday, 10/18. Families are welcome to stop by! (Check Midway Fire & Rescue’s page for details.)

Thank you, Midway Fire & Rescue, for helping our youngest Dolphins learn how to stay safe and be prepared! 💙🔥🐬
