WES students and staff rocked their camouflage and black today to show that we’re making drugs and bullies disappear! 💨
It was amazing to see our school united in support of safe, healthy, and kind choices. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped keep the Red Ribbon Week spirit strong! ❤️💪
Let’s keep standing together — Drug Free and Bully Free at WES!
WES showed incredible school spirit today as we teamed up against drugs and bullying! 💪
From jerseys to fan gear, our students and staff proved that when we work together, we’re unstoppable in promoting kindness, respect, and healthy choices. ❤️💙
Thank you, WES families, for helping make Red Ribbon Week such a success so far — let’s keep the teamwork going! 🙌

What an awesome kickoff to Red Ribbon Week! Our halls were filled with bright RED as students and staff showed their commitment to making healthy choices and standing up against bullying. 💪
Thank you to everyone who participated — your school spirit and positive energy made the first day a huge success! Let’s keep the momentum going as we celebrate the rest of Red Ribbon Week together! 🎉

On Wednesday, October 22, our students and staff proudly wore orange to celebrate Unity Day — standing together to show that we are united in kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
At WES, we believe that together we can prevent bullying and create a school community where everyone feels safe and valued. 💪✨

This week, our Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-grade students had a special visit from Midway Fire & Rescue on Wednesday and Thursday! 🚒👩🚒
The firefighters taught our students all about fire safety, including important lessons like:
How to Stop, Drop, and Roll 🌀
Crawling low under smoke
Knowing when to call 911 for an emergency
Creating a family safety plan with a meeting place outside 🏡
Practicing fire drills at home
Students also watched a firefighter put on their gear piece by piece, learning the importance of each item and why it’s nothing to be afraid of. They were reminded not to hide from firefighters during an emergency.
To wrap up the visit, classes got to see the fire trucks up close and explore the different tools firefighters use to keep our community safe! 🚨
👉 Community invite: Midway Fire & Rescue is hosting an Open House tomorrow, Saturday, 10/18. Families are welcome to stop by! (Check Midway Fire & Rescue’s page for details.)
Thank you, Midway Fire & Rescue, for helping our youngest Dolphins learn how to stay safe and be prepared! 💙🔥🐬

Kidz in Lids Day at Waccamaw Elementary!
Today our students and staff came together for a special cause—supporting Children’s Cancer Research. 💛 For just $1, everyone got to show off their favorite hats while making a meaningful difference.
We are so proud of our school community for participating and giving from the heart. Thank you to everyone who helped raise both awareness and funds for such an important cause! 🎗️#KidzInLids

Our amazing grandparents were showered with love and appreciation from our students last night. Each child made a sweet gift to share, then enjoyed cookies 🍪 and lemonade 🍋 with their grandparents. Many even stopped by the Book Fair together for some extra fun!
A BIG shoutout to our incredible PTO for organizing such a special event. Your hard work made the day unforgettable, and the smiles said it all! 🥰
