We are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with a variety of reminders of how much our Waccamaw High teachers mean to our students and school community. Today the Woot! Woot! cart made the rounds. Thank you to our teachers for the energy, care, creativity, and dedication you bring every day. We appreciate you!

Mrs. Rutherford has spearheaded many initiatives at Waccamaw High School. She assisted with helping to get speed bumps in the car riders line, and reduce the speed along Kings River Road. She helped transition WAVE (PTO) into Warrior Club. With that transition, the Warrior Club now helps with all different kinds of events and services all our students, teacher, and community. Mrs. Rutherford is in the process of transforming a courtyard area at Waccamaw that will include new tables with benches, new high top seating, a mural on the wall, and some shade to keep cool. Mrs. Rutherford also helps with sailing club, cross-country, and track & field. She does everything in her power to make Waccamaw a better place.
Mrs. Rutherford truly cares about the students in this school, and the community at large. She attends SIC meetings, Booster Club meetings, any school function that Warrior Club is providing food or decorations for, and makes sure to attend sporting events. The Rutherford family moved to Pawleys Island 3 years ago, and Mrs. Rutherford has made an immense impact in such a short amount of time. Waccamaw takes pride in what we are able to offer our students, and the experiences we can give them, and Mrs. Rutherford has been a critical piece of that.
The Volunteer of the Year is a recognition given to an individual (or organization) who has demonstrated outstanding commitment, dedication, and service as a volunteer within the school community. This award acknowledges the invaluable contributions made by volunteers who generously donate their time, skills, and resources to support various aspects of the school's academics, arts, athletics, and activities.

Come enjoy an afternoon of fun. There will be games, trivia, gift card prizes, therapy dogs, face painting, and ice cream.

They represented Waccamaw with energy, determination, and heart. We are proud to celebrate their hard work and effort. It was a great day of competition, teamwork, and school pride.
We are proud of each student who took part and grateful for the way they represented the Warrior community.

Thank you to our military children for the courage, flexibility, and heart you show every day. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are proud to support you.

Cadets recently put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test during a hands-on leadership lab challenge.
Using only 20 sheets of printer paper and 2 feet of tape, teams had 30 minutes to build the tallest tower possible—strong enough to hold a dodgeball on top for one full minute.
This activity emphasized collaboration, communication, and creative thinking under pressure—key skills for effective leadership.
Congratulations to Team “I Don’t Know” — Cadet Graham, Cadet Collins, and Cadet Selinger — for building the winning tower at an impressive 24 inches!
Great work by all cadets as they continue to develop leadership skills through real-world challenges.
