Dear Parents and Guardians, We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. To enhance our communication with you regarding attendance, we have updated our contact system. Please be aware that starting from January 30, 2024, if your child is marked absent from school, you will receive a notification call from our new number: 843-436-7000. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to improve school-home communication and to promptly inform you of your child's attendance status. We understand the importance of being immediately aware if your child is not present at school. Action Required: Please save this new number in your phone contacts as School Absence Notification. Ensure that your contact details are up to date in our school records. If there have been any changes, please inform us immediately. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring the best for our students.

Gator Community, Update for Wednesday, January 10, 2024 Georgetown County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for all students and employees on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Buses will also operate on a two-hour delay.   The latest weather forecast indicates that the most intense portion of today’s storm will pass through our area between 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. In an abundance of caution, GCSD will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, January 10, 2024, to allow time for the District’s Maintenance and Safety & Risk Management Departments to inspect schools, facilities, and bus routes.

Gator Community, In an abundance of caution due to expected inclement weather, including severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and possibly strong tornadoes, all GCSD schools and facilities will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. All school activities, including athletic events and practices, scheduled for Tuesday, January 9 are canceled/postponed. GCSD is an approved eLearning district; however, because we are returning from Winter Break, a decision has been made to schedule eLearning for Tuesday, February 20, 2024. This will allow time for schools and teachers to plan instructional activities and ensure that students have needed devices. Specific instructions will be communicated to students and parents from their students’ teachers and schools regarding assignments. All assignments must be completed and turned in by Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in order for a student to be marked present for the eLearning day. GCSD district administration will continue to monitor conditions across our county. We expect a return to normal operations on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Please check local media, the district website, and our social media page for the latest information on school closings or delays.
