Gator Community,
Starting this week, your child will be participating in the South Carolina State Assessment. The data gathered from these assessments will be used to guide instruction for the upcoming school year and provide information to help each student. To help your child perform at their best it is important for them to get enough sleep the night before, have breakfast in the morning, and arrive at school on time. We know your child has been working hard all year so all we ask of them is to do their best and to take their time.
Testing will start promptly at 7:50 on the assigned days. The assessment will be taken online using student Chromebooks, so 6th grade parents, please remind your child to charge their computer before coming to school.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.

Please save this new number in your phone contacts as School Absence Notification.
Ensure that your contact details are up to date in our school records. If there have been any changes, please inform us immediately.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring the best for our students.
Gator Community,
Update for Wednesday, January 10, 2024
Georgetown County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for all students and employees on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Buses will also operate on a two-hour delay.
The latest weather forecast indicates that the most intense portion of today’s storm will pass through our area between 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. In an abundance of caution, GCSD will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, January 10, 2024, to allow time for the District’s Maintenance and Safety & Risk Management Departments to inspect schools, facilities, and bus routes.
Gator Community,
In an abundance of caution due to expected inclement weather, including severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and possibly strong tornadoes, all GCSD schools and facilities will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. All school activities, including athletic events and practices, scheduled for Tuesday, January 9 are canceled/postponed.
GCSD is an approved eLearning district; however, because we are returning from Winter Break, a decision has been made to schedule eLearning for Tuesday, February 20, 2024. This will allow time for schools and teachers to plan instructional activities and ensure that students have needed devices. Specific instructions will be communicated to students and parents from their students’ teachers and schools regarding assignments. All assignments must be completed and turned in by Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in order for a student to be marked present for the eLearning day.
GCSD district administration will continue to monitor conditions across our county. We expect a return to normal operations on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Please check local media, the district website, and our social media page for the latest information on school closings or delays.
Parents/Guardians,
Join us on Friday, January 12, 2024, as we celebrate the 1st semester academic success of our students. Students will be recognized for Principal's Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, and will receive their report card.
6th Grade: 8:00 - 9:00
4th Grade: 9:00 - 10:00
5th Grade: 10:00 - 11:00

The Bunnelle Youth Board would like to invite you to the Beck Recreation Center to watch the The Polar Express on Friday, December 8th, at 5:00.
Dear Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND—as always—every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the big event, which will take place from November 13th - November 17th
Say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Book Fair online. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Every online purchase will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/gatorreads . The countdown to more Book joy is on! Catch you at the Fair!
Happy reading!
If you plan to come for our Thanksgiving Lunch on the 16th please drop in the fair. I am sure teachers will let your children out of class/recess so that you can visit the fair together.
