Gator Community,
Please click on the link below to nominate a parent that you think would be an asset to Waccamaw Intermediate School as a member of our School Improvement Committee for 2023-2024.
An SIC Committee is a broad based body intended to advise the principal and school, and is focused to achieve school improvement. The Committee is comprised of teachers, principal, parents, community members, and other ex-officio members. Two parents will be elected to serve on the committee.
The deadline for nominations is Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Gator Community,
The WHSABC is offering All Sports Passes for WES and WIS students. These passes can be used for any regular season WHS sporting event.

In an abundance of caution due to expected inclement weather, all GCSD schools will have an eLearning day on Thursday, August 31, 2023. This means all schools and facilities will be closed on Thursday. In addition, all after-school activities for Wednesday, August 30 are canceled. GCSD is an approved eLearning district, so Thursday, August 31 will not have to be made up, and asynchronous instruction will be provided to all students. Pre-K - 2nd grade students will receive paper packets, and 3rd - 12th grade students will be assigned lessons through Google Classroom. Specific instructions will be communicated to students and parents from their students’ teachers and schools. All assignments must be completed and turned in within three school days (Wednesday, September 7, 2023) in order for a student to be marked present for the eLearning day. At this time, if conditions allow, athletic practices (not requiring bus transportation) may resume on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Athletic competitions scheduled for Thursday afternoon are canceled and/or postponed due to wind gusts that may exceed allowable speeds for bus operation. Student-athletes are encouraged to coordinate with their coaches for specific details. GCSD district administration will continue to monitor conditions across our county. We expect a return to normal operations on Friday, September 1, 2023. Please check local media, the district website, and our social media page for the latest information on school closings or delays. Visit the GCSD Technology Resource Center for more information on eLearning - https://sites.google.com/gcsd.k12.sc.us/gcsd-elearning/home?authuser=0

Gator Community,
We are looking forward to seeing you tonight at our Open House from 4:30 – 6:30. I know our teachers are just as excited as our students to meet one another and kick-off another Gator Great Year. If you have not submitted your proof of residency, please submit your documentation to the front office prior to meeting your teacher. 6th grade students will not receive their full schedule until proof of residency is received. Students who are not registered will not receive their homeroom assignment until registration is complete. We will have computers and a room set-up to assist with registration. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
