Dear GCSD Families, 

I write to you today as the newly appointed Superintendent of Georgetown County School District. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve in this role. While my entire professional career has been spent as an educator in GCSD, my journey with this district began over 40 years ago when I was a kindergarten student at Andrews Primary School. I am humbled by the opportunity to give back to the home and community that have shaped me.

I fully embrace the responsibility of leading our district boldly toward continuous improvement and lasting success. This is, without a doubt, a team effort, and you will often hear me refer to #TeamGCSD. #TeamGCSD is all of us—our parents, our community, our faculty & staff, and most importantly, our students. I look forward to fostering open and transparent communication with #TeamGCSD as we work together to create an environment where all of our students can thrive.

In an effort to further promote open dialogue, I am excited to introduce "CommUNITY Conversations." These informal gatherings will give community members and parents the chance to meet with me regularly to share their concerns, ideas, and hopes for our school district.  Look for more details in the coming weeks about this initiative and additional efforts to foster our ongoing conversations.    

Building strong relationships and fostering trust is one of my top priorities. I truly believe that every young mind holds immense potential, waiting to be unlocked through education, support, and encouragement. I am eager to collaborate with each of you. Together, we will continue to empower our students and positively impact our community.
