Earnest Houston III

Georgetown County School District is pleased to announce that Earnest Houston III was named the new principal of Rosemary Middle during the March 19 Board of Trustees Meeting. He will assume the position on July 1, 2024, replacing Latanya Goodson who is retiring at the end of the current school year.

“Mr. Houston really impressed our interview panel with his enthusiasm, his ideas for generating school and community pride through building relationships, and his focus on academic success,” shared Superintendent Keith Price. “I look forward to seeing Rosemary Middle prosper under his leadership.”

Houston began his educational career in Berkeley County where he worked as a social studies teacher for 10 years.  He joined Charleston County School District in January 2018 as an administrative assistant at Septima P. Clark Academy. Houston served as the assistant principal of North Charleston High School for one year, 2018-2019, and for the last five years as the assistant principal at R. B. Stall High School.

Houston holds a Bachelor of Science in History & Humanities and Fine Arts from Charleston Southern University and a Master of Educational Leadership from The Citadel.

Congratulations, Mr. Houston!
