Georgetown County School District Teacher Wins PSTA Classroom Grant

Georgetown– Georgetown County School District teacher Laura Cameron has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Palmetto State Teachers Association Classroom Grant. This is the fifth year of the PSTA Classroom Grants created as part of the Reinvesting in Our Members Program. The grants are awarded annually to encourage and support PSTA members as they serve students across our state.

Ms. Cameron is a band and chorus teacher at Georgetown High School. This grant will be used to purchase a cymbal stand and percussion table for her music students. This equipment will not only protect the instruments being used, but also provide a better experience for students in the classroom. According to Ms. Cameron, “With the proper equipment, students will be able to practice proper technique and transition between instruments with greater ease.” PSTA Director of Teacher Leadership, Craig King, surprised Ms. Cameron in her classroom on August 18, 2026 with the exciting news that her grant was chosen as a winner!
