At CBMSA, we are connecting classroom learning to real-world careers!

Our STEM students enjoyed an informative visit from Amy Merritt, an Engineer with Envirosep, who helped students explore energy transfer, sustainability, and careers in engineering. Students had the opportunity to see how the concepts they are learning in the classroom are applied to solving real-world challenges.

Our Advanced Art students also had an exciting visit from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, where they learned about educational opportunities and the many career pathways available in the arts.

From STEM to the Arts, we are helping our Bears discover their talents, explore their interests, and see the possibilities for their futures. Career exploration starts now!

🐻 Dress The Bear Way! 🐻

Bear Family, we want to ensure that all of our students come to school ready to learn, ready to lead, and dressed for success!

Please take a moment to review the attached flyer, which provides examples of clothing that represents The Bear Way and clothing that is Not The Bear Way according to our school dress code expectations.

We appreciate our parents and guardians partnering with us by reviewing these expectations with their students before they arrive at school each day. When our Bears dress appropriately for school, we can keep the focus where it belongs—on learning, growing, and making great things happen at The Bay!

Thank you, Bear Family, for your continued support and cooperation!

🎨🧵 Creativity is in full STEAM in Ms. Brooks’ Art Room! 🐻✨

Inspired by the work of artist Faith Ringgold, our students are learning how art can be used to tell a story through the creation of their own storytelling quilts!

Right now, our young artists are busy developing their blueprints, preparing their canvases, and bringing their ideas to life one step at a time. We love seeing creativity, planning, design, and storytelling come together in the classroom!

At CBMSA, our Bears are FULL STEAM AHEAD! 🚂🎨🧵🐻

Learning, collaborating, and bringing fresh ideas back home! 🎨🔬📚

Our Carvers Bay Middle STEAM Academy educators had an incredible experience at the National Arts Integration and STEAM Conference in St. Louis, where we connected with innovative educators from across the country who are passionate about transforming teaching and learning through STEAM.

We were especially excited to partner with our Georgetown County colleagues from Browns Ferry Elementary School for the Creative and Performing Arts, strengthening local collaboration while gaining new strategies to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and student engagement.

The best professional learning happens when great educators come together with a shared purpose. We can’t wait to bring these ideas back to our classrooms and continue creating meaningful learning experiences for our scholars! ❤️💛 #CBMSA #STEAMEducation #ArtsIntegration #ProfessionalLearning #StrongerTogether #TeamGCSD #CreativeLearning #FutureReady
