September 12, 2025
📅 Schedule:
✨ 6th Grade – 10:30 AM
✨ 7th Grade – 11:56 AM
✨ 8th Grade – 12:51 PM

$7.00 for Lunch
We have amazing things happening at GMS, and we can’t wait to see you!
💡 A Note to Parents/Guardians:
With all respect, we kindly ask that no outside food be brought in. The reason is simple. Every student won’t be able to enjoy food from outside, and we want to make sure no child feels left out during this special time. Our goal is for all students to feel included and celebrated. 🍽️💜
We appreciate your understanding and support in advance. Let’s make this another memorable Lunch With Mom! 🌟

Donations will go to the Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas and will benefit the families of children in our community undergoing cancer treatments.
Students/Staff pay $1 to wear a “lid” in school for the day, OR pay $5 to wear a "lid" and receive a Kidz in Lids bracelet.
• Bracelets are being sent via interoffice mail today to all elementary and middle schools.
An optional incentive is available this year - an ice cream party.
• Only one class per school can receive the incentive.
• The incentive is optional and should be used to encourage participation or even friendly competition. Examples - The class that raises the most money wins an ice cream party; the class with the most participation and that raises the most money wins the ice cream party.
• You are welcome to come up with your own plan for how the ice cream party will be awarded.
• I will contact you after Kidz in Lids Day to determine if and when you would like to have your ice cream party.
Each participating school needs to complete and submit the attached “Donation Form” to me by Tuesday, September 23.

Parents, check those backpacks 😉✨

8th Grade Science is giving subjects a run for their money! 💪📚
Mrs. Derise shared her gravity lab project too! 🪂 Today, students tested how mass affects the rate an object falls 🌍⬇️ and collected evidence like true scientists! 📝✨
Science is FUN and EVERYWHERE! 🚀💙

Once again, Mrs. Weaver is shining a light on her Science Superstars! 🧪✨ This past Friday, her students investigated how the mass of an object affects its falling rate and used their evidence to build strong arguments about what they observed. 📊💡
Think bigger! 🤔 Knowing how gravity affects objects can help people design airplanes✈️ and rockets🚀. Science is everywhere!
GMS, we’re out here to do our BEST! 💪💙
BIIGGGG BLUE YOOOUUU KNNOOWWW! 💙💙💙

Dear Bulldog Parents and Guardians,
We have been noticing an increase in over-the-counter medications being brought to school by students. For safety reasons, students are not allowed to keep these medications with them. All medications must be brought to the school nurse to be properly processed and administered.
We also ask that you check your child’s belongings for sharp objects such as scissors, rattail combs, or other items that could cause harm. These items are not permitted at school, and your help in checking ahead of time means a safer environment for everyone.
We know it may feel like a lot, but just like we adults have rules to follow, such as not speeding 100 miles per hour down Highmarket Street 🚦, our students must follow rules too.
Thank you in advance for teaming up with us to keep our Bulldog family safe and strong. Your support means the world. 💙🐾
