📣 Note from Coach Barron's Desk 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💨 Let’s give it up for our AMAZING 7th and 8th grade athletes! 💙💛 We are SO PROUD of you!! 🙌👏 Yesterday, our boys and girls track teams showed up and showed OUT at the Georgetown County Championships held at Carvers Bay High School! 🏟️ This meet featured only the four high schools in Georgetown County — Andrews, Carvers Bay, Georgetown, and Waccamaw — and guess what? Our GMS athletes held their own! 💪🐾 👧🏽 Girls team represented with pride! 👦🏽 Boys team finished 3rd overall! 🥉 Here are some 🔥 highlights from our GMS stars: ⭐ Jackson Smalls – Just missed a medal in the 800m but crushed it with a STRONG kick to take 4th place 💥 ⭐ Larrian “2 Mile” Dingle – Lived up to the nickname! Took 2nd place in his signature race, the 2 mile! 🥈🏃‍♂️ ⭐ Sissy Reed – Took 3rd place in the 3200m… her first AND last 2-mile of the season! 😄👏 ⭐ Tylin Rice – Our COUNTY CHAMPION in Shot Put!! 🥇 Also snagged 3rd place in Discus! 💪🛠️ ⭐ Ta’leigha Gadson-Nelson – Medaled in EVERY event she competed in!! 🎖️🔥 🥇 1st Place - 4x400m Relay (with a 5 second season best 😱) 🥈 2nd Place - 4x100m Relay 🥉 3rd Place - 400m Dash 💥💪 Shoutout to ALL of our athletes for their hard work, hustle, and heart! Dear Bulldog Family, It is hard to believe that our 8th graders will be moving on to high school in a few months. We would like to honor our students with a series of events to prepare for this momentous occasion. If your student has not completed an IGP Conference, please contact Mr. Nicklaus Cox at the school. Our Eighth-Grade Promotion Ceremony will occur on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in the GMS Gymnasium. Students with last names beginning with A-J will have a ceremony at 9:00 a.m., and students with last names starting with K-Z will have a ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Only students who have passed all four content area classes (English, Math, Social Studies, and Science) will be allowed to participate. As we celebrate this momentous occasion, please adhere to the following guidelines: • This is a ticketed event (4 per student). Any person older than 3 years old must have a ticket to be admitted. Students will receive tickets on Wednesday, May 28, during rehearsal. • Appropriate dress (business casual) is recommended for students and guests. There is no color scheme recommendation for this event. We are so excited to mark this milestone in our students' continuous journey of success.
