Our Golden Apple Award Winner for the month of November is Ms. Michaela Harleston! She is a Special Abilities teacher here at KES, and she is doing an amazing job! Ms. Harleston serves as the grade level chairperson for her team, and she works tirelessly to keep her team moving and thriving. She is dependable, smart, and hardworking. It is a pleasure to present Ms. Harleston as our Golden Apple Award Winner for the month of November!

Harvest Festival and Family Literacy Night are coming to KES on Thursday, November 2nd! The Harvest Festival will include a cake walk, bingo, face painting, color hair braiding, a nail polish station, carnival games, popcorn, and drinks. Tickets will cost $1, and each activity varies from $1-$5. Food trucks will include Kona Ice, Gnosh Pit, and Smoked and Shredded, costing $5-$15 each. For Literacy Family Night, each grade level will have an activity on their hallway, and the school will be providing pizza! Make sure to mark your calendar, and join us for this Koala-ty evening!

Congratulations to our October Students of the Month for displaying the trait of responsibility!

The Koala Ambassadors did an amazing job with their first Community Meeting! They have been working so hard with their coach, Mrs. Yolanda McCray!






Our Koala Ambassadors from Follow Me! will be leading their first Community Meetings today! They have been working hard with Mrs. McCray to develop strong leadership skills. This program will continue to grow each year at KES!

Tomorrow is Spirit Day and Ice Cream Day at KES!


Happy Boss's Day to these two guys! They keep KES running each and every day!!

Red Ribbon Week will take place October 23rd-27th! On Monday, we wear as much RED as possible. On Tuesday, we wear crazy hair, socks, hats, and/or animal print. Wednesday we wear NEON colors, and Thursday we can dress like a friend. On Friday, prek-2nd graders will dress like their favorite Letterland Character, and 3rd-5th graders will dress up like their favorite Storybook Characters. We can't wait to see everyone dressed up!


Mrs. Grant is our Golden Apple Award recipient for the month of October! She is our bookkeeper at KES, and she is amazing! She goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to her school. She loves to laugh and have fun with her co-workers and our students! We are glad she is a part of our family. Congratulations, Mrs. Grant, for being selected as our Golden Apple Award recipient. You are awesome!

Cog-at and Iowa Testing will start at KES after returning from Fall Break! Please look at the schedule to see when your student will test!

Fall Break takes place October 9th-13th for students!
