Due to the forecasted winter weather conditions, Georgetown County School District (GCSD) will operate on a half-day schedule on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. This decision, made in consultation with the National Weather Service and Georgetown County Emergency Management, is based on predictions of wintry precipitation and the potential for hazardous driving conditions later in the day on Tuesday.
Dismissal Times:
Elementary Schools: 11:00 a.m.
Intermediate School: 11:15 a.m.
Middle and High Schools: 12:15 p.m.
All afterschool activities, including athletic competitions and practices, are canceled or postponed for Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Additionally, the GCSD Board Work Session scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. A decision regarding GCSD’s operational status for Wednesday will be announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Yearbook Ads for 5th Grade Students for the 2024-25 yearbook are due by Friday, January 31, 2025.


Our KES 2nd and 3rd Grade students did a fabulous job with their Holiday Program, "Elflandia", under the direction of our music teacher, Dr. Marshall.











Be sure to make plans to attend our KES Holiday Program on December 18th.
2nd Graders will be performing at 8:30 and 3rd graders will be performing at 9:30.


KES K-Kids are collecting toys to donate to Toys for Tots. Donations are being collected in the front office. All donations are due on December 15th.


Congratulations to those who have completed the "Fall Into Reading" reading challenge in BeanStack. They have read 300 or more minutes from October 1st through November 30th. Be sure to have your child use the Bean Stack app to read at least 10 minutes every day. A flyer went home over a month ago with details. Check with your child's teacher or Mrs. Ford in the library for more information on BeanStack.


Beginning on Monday, December 2nd, walkers will be dismissed at 2:30pm.

What a great night at our KES Fall Festival & Literacy Night. We had lots of fun literacy games, a cake walk, BINGO, pizza, popcorn, and food trucks. Our students had a fun night with their families!
