📚🥫 Help Us Make a Difference! 🥫📚

Our students at McDonald Elementary are wrapping up Simon B. Rhymin’ with a special culminating project—and we need your help!

We are collecting nonperishable food items to support local Little Free Pantries and families right here in our community. This project is all about showing our students that even at a young age, they can make a big impact 💙

✨ Items we’re collecting:
• Canned vegetables, fruits, and meats
• Soup, pasta, and rice
• Peanut butter and cereal
• Other nonperishable goods

Donations can be sent in with students or dropped off at the school.

Together, we can spread kindness, build community, and make sure our neighbors have what they need. Thank you for supporting our students and this meaningful project!

🌱 Gardening Club – Day 2 Update! 🌱 Our young gardeners have been hard at work during Day 2 of Gardening Club! Students helped pack down the layers in our new flower bed, adding mulch, compost, soil, and even banana peels collected from school lunches 🍌—a great way to recycle and enrich our soil naturally! They also enjoyed watching Nurse Powell demonstrate how to safely add fertilizer to help our garden grow strong and healthy. Next steps include checking our soil mixture, tilling the bed, and setting up irrigation. We’re also excited to add planters around the garden and plant marigolds 🌼 as we begin learning about companion gardening and how certain plants help each other thrive. We are so proud of our students’ teamwork, curiosity, and willingness to get their hands dirty while learning valuable life skills! 🌿💚 Stay tuned for more updates as our garden continues to grow! 🌸🌻

✅ Please avoid scheduling appointments on testing days
