Did you know one visit can spark big change? 🌱 On Monday, August 31, Ms. Maureen Mulligan from the Georgetown County Environmental Division visited Carvers Bay Middle STEAM Academy and spoke with Mrs. Miller’s ELA/Math classes as part of their PBL project. She shared practical tips on recycling and composting and showed students how everyday actions help protect our planet.
Thank you, Ms. Mulligan, for inspiring our learners! ♻️

Mrs. Andrada’s Project Lead The Way students had an amazing Mini Showcase today! Our young engineers proudly demonstrated their coding and robotics skills for parents, fellow students, and staff members.
Students designed and coded robots that were programmed to make basketball goals! 🏀 Some of our scholars even took their projects to the next level by incorporating color recognition into their programming. 🤯💻
We love seeing our students turn classroom learning into hands on innovation while developing skills in coding, problem solving, engineering, and creativity.
At CBMSA, we aren’t just learning about the future. We’re building it! 🤖⚙️

CBMSA Parents and Guardians, please be reminded that Interim Reports will be sent home with students on Tuesday, September 1st.
We encourage families to review interim reports with their students, celebrate their progress, and discuss any areas where additional support may be needed. Interims are a great opportunity to check in before the end of the grading period and make a plan for continued success.
Thank you for partnering with us to support our Bears!

Our STEM students enjoyed an informative visit from Amy Merritt, an Engineer with Envirosep, who helped students explore energy transfer, sustainability, and careers in engineering. Students had the opportunity to see how the concepts they are learning in the classroom are applied to solving real-world challenges.
Our Advanced Art students also had an exciting visit from the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, where they learned about educational opportunities and the many career pathways available in the arts.
From STEM to the Arts, we are helping our Bears discover their talents, explore their interests, and see the possibilities for their futures. Career exploration starts now!

Bear Family, we want to ensure that all of our students come to school ready to learn, ready to lead, and dressed for success!
Please take a moment to review the attached flyer, which provides examples of clothing that represents The Bear Way and clothing that is Not The Bear Way according to our school dress code expectations.
We appreciate our parents and guardians partnering with us by reviewing these expectations with their students before they arrive at school each day. When our Bears dress appropriately for school, we can keep the focus where it belongs—on learning, growing, and making great things happen at The Bay!
Thank you, Bear Family, for your continued support and cooperation!

Inspired by the work of artist Faith Ringgold, our students are learning how art can be used to tell a story through the creation of their own storytelling quilts!
Right now, our young artists are busy developing their blueprints, preparing their canvases, and bringing their ideas to life one step at a time. We love seeing creativity, planning, design, and storytelling come together in the classroom!
At CBMSA, our Bears are FULL STEAM AHEAD! 🚂🎨🧵🐻
