Beta Club sponsored a Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out Volleyball Tournament, which featured our CB STEAM Academy Volleyball Team versus the Staff. This was a great way to raise awareness while having fun! The entire student body enjoyed this event.




South Carolina Future Business Leaders of America
The members of FBLA Middle-Level attended their Fall Leadership Conference in Columbia, SC at the University of South Carolina. Members had an opportunity to network with other members and prominent leaders in the industry.




Lego Robotic Scrimmage
The members of the "FL2 Technicians" attended their first Lego Robotics scrimmage in Greenville, South Carolina! Our students demonstrated their knowledge of programming and engineering by building a robot to complete various tasks independently.

October 9, 2023
Lego Education Professional Development was highly engaging and informative. Teachers utilized this time to generate ideas for lesson planning incorporating Lego across-curriculums.










GCSD is hosting a K-12 parenting event on Thursday, October 19 at 5 p.m. in the boardroom of the J B Beck Administration & Education Center. Georgetown native Camechia Johnson will be the guest speaker and will share highlights from her book "Say It . . . Aloud!" Please RSVP.


The Citadel
Our students totally enjoy their campus tour at "The Citadel", located in Charleston, SC. During our college tour, our students also had an opportunity to participate in STEM experiments focusing on renewable energy and 3D printing. Watch out for "Bears at Work!"





Our Bear-A-Thon was a roaring good time! We would like to thank parents, grandparents, and community members for joining us on September 20, 2023, for our showcase. During this event, students had an opportunity to display their knowledge and talents.

In Action: Inquiry
Ms. Lewis’s students were truly engaged in reflecting their knowledge of Ancient Civilizations while creating their own personalized alphabet using “Cuneiforms”! This lesson emphasized Costa’s Level Thinking Three, which encouraged to imagine, create, and apply their content knowledge to make personalized clay artifacts with messages.





Mr. Steve Williams the author of "Harriet Tubman’s and John Bowley’s Excellent Adventure", was our guest speaker today! He highlighted passages from his book as well as provide our student body with a motivational speech centered around perseverance and goal-setting.




The Vice President of Marketing for Georgetown Kraft Credit Union Mrs. Ewing, visited our campus on September 8, 2023, as a guest speaker. During her presentation, she shared information regarding career pathways in the areas of Banking and Finance.
