Governor Henry McMaster has proclaimed April as the Month of the Military Child or "Purple Up! For Military Kids" in South Carolina.
GCSD has designated April 22 as our day to celebrate students whose service members parents serve and protect our country. We are asking all faculty, staff, and students to wear purple on April 22 to show their support.

Georgetown County Adult Education recently partnered with the district’s Food Services Department to offer a Workplace Literacy Program that provides cafeteria employees the opportunity to earn the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.
The first class, which included 12 hours of instruction, was held from March 3 to March 10, and 14 participants successfully earned their certification. The district, along with Georgetown County Adult Education, are proud to celebrate this accomplishment and the commitment of employees to strengthening their food safety knowledge and skills. The course is being taught by Dr. Anderson and Mrs. Brandy Caroway.
Due to the success of the first session, another class is scheduled to begin on March 17, 2026, with 16 participants expected to attend.
Local businesses interested in having employees receive this certification are encouraged to contact us at 843-546-0219 for more information.
