We are excited to welcome our students and families back for another outstanding school year! Join us for our 2026 Open House on Wednesday, July 29, to meet teachers and staff, receive important information, and prepare for a successful first day of school.

Event Ends: 7:30 PM
During Open House, families will have the opportunity to:
Meet your child's teachers and our outstanding staff.
Pick up student schedules.
Learn about our academic programs, expectations, clubs, and opportunities at CBMSA.
Become familiar with the school campus and important procedures before the first day of school.
This evening is designed to help students and families feel informed, prepared, and excited for the new school year. Whether you are joining the Bear family for the first time or returning for another year, we look forward to seeing you!

Online registration is required for all returning and new students who will attend the school in which they are zoned by residence.

Choose a “just right” book. Books will be located and can be picked up from our office. Summer office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. Mrs. Woodward will be available at the school until June 17th for any questions. However, you can come anytime during office hours and select a book
Make reading a daily habit — even 15 minutes counts! ⏰
Create a final project: a 1–3 minute book trailer or a character scrapbook with 5 artifacts and short explanations. 🎥🖼️
Follow the steps to upload your project in Google Classroom and click “Turn In.” Projects are a minor assessment—check with your ELA teacher for due dates.

Monday, May 11th – Mindful Monday
Students may participate in journaling activities in the cafeteria focused on gratitude, goals, and positive thoughts.
Tuesday, May 12th – Mood and Mind Snacks
Students will enjoy granola bars and yogurt during lunch as we promote healthy habits for the mind and body.
Wednesday, May 13th – Dogs Leave Paw Prints on Your Heart
Students will have the opportunity to pet a dog during recess as we highlight the calming benefits animals can provide.
Thursday, May 14th – Inside Out Day
Students may wear their clothes inside out or wear Inside Out movie-themed clothing to promote emotional awareness and expression.
Friday, May 15th – Break the Stigma and Green Out
Students and staff are encouraged to wear green in support of Mental Health Awareness Month and to help break the stigma surrounding mental health.
We are excited to celebrate this important week together and encourage everyone to be kind to their minds and kind to each other.

What an awesome visit we had from our future 6th graders on yesterday! 🎉 Fifth-grade classes toured Carvers Bay Middle STEAM Academy, met our 6th-grade teachers, explored the Library, and got hands-on in Exploratory Hall.
