"Yesterday the boys and girls' cross-country teams traveled to Moncks Corner to participate in the Stags Stampede hosted by Berkeley High School.
It was our best performance of the season against some great competition! Our girls’ team finished 3rd overall out of 17 teams and earned a trophy. The boys placed 11th out of 18 teams. For the girls, we placed 3 runners in the top 20, including Baliee Jordan (7th Place), Peyton Wilder (10th Place) and senior Hayden Schumacher (14th Place).

Sullivan Bryan (7th Grade) also had a stronger performance yesterday.

The next meet will be at home next Tuesday, October ,6 as we hosted the Georgetown County Championships (County Quad).

We’ll take a closer look at what the data is telling us about our children, with KIDS COUNT data presented by Children’s Trust of South Carolina along with local data from the Georgetown County School District.

We’ll also hear from a panel of community professionals representing economic development, mental health, and inclusion as we explore what the data means for our community.

But we don’t want to stop at the numbers.
What can we do – together – to help our children thrive?

Come ready to listen, learn, and leave with meaningful action steps that each of us can take to strengthen outcomes for children across Georgetown County.

Yesterday the boys and girls' cross country teams hosted the first home meet of the season against Carvers Bay and Hannah-Pamplico.
The girls won and scored a perfect 15 team score.
Bailee Jordan (8th Grade) - 1st overall and Peyton Wilder (8th Grade) was a close second, running a time of (23:28).
Sullivan Bryan (7th Grade) - continued to drop her time, running 25 low. Lilah Smith (7th Grade) turned in her best performance of the season.
The boys also placed first.
Christian Gause (8th Grade) ran a new PR and Gage Fulton (7th Grade) avoided the alligator and also posted one of his best times of the season as well.

The next meet will be tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 26 at Stables Park (Pawleys).

💙🐾 BIG BLUE TEACHER SPOTLIGHT! 🐾💙

Let’s shine a little light on our very own Mr. Matthew Bullock, one of BIG BLUE’s newest science teachers! 🔬🌎

Before stepping into the classroom, Mr. Bullock was a meteorologist, bringing his love for science, weather, and learning from the television screen to the students of Georgetown Middle School.

And honestly… y’all should NOT be surprised! 😂 After all, WE ARE BIG BLUE! 🐾💙

A METEOROLOGIST turned SCIENCE TEACHER? Yep… that sounds like something that would happen in Bulldog Land! 😂

So if you hear Mr. Bullock talking about pressure systems, weather patterns, or the forecast… just know he’s probably still got a little meteorologist in him! 🌦️😂

But one thing is for sure… there’s a 100% chance of SCIENCE happening in his classroom! 🧪🔬💙

The Bulldogs were ready to learn, create, and have some fun! 🐾

Here are a few pictures from our Robotics Club’s first day! Our students were excited to get hands-on, explore new ideas, and start building their skills. 🚀🔧

We can’t wait to see what these future innovators create!

Just wanted to share that Olympic & World Champion sprinter Melissa Jefferson-Wooden will be a part of the Myrtle Beach Fall Development Series track clinic on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

The clinic will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, and registration is intended for youth participants ages 6-18 for just $15/session (Session #1 9/26 Sprints/Hurdles, Session #2 10/24 Field Events) and includes a Nike shirt, water bottle, and on 9/26 a to-go lunch.

Melissa is a graduate of Carver's Bay High School, attended Coastal Carolina University, and ran in the most recent Olympic Games in Paris. She holds the 2nd fastest time EVER for women in the 200m.
