🎶 Georgetown Middle School Band & Orchestra Instrument Rental Night 🎻
Georgetown Middle School is partnering with Full Scale Band & Orchestra for our annual Instrument Rental Night on Tuesday, August 11, at 5:30 PM in the GMS Cafeteria.
This event is for all beginning band students and families. Representatives from Full Scale Band & Orchestra will be on site to help families:
• Set up instrument rental contracts
• Purchase method books
• Purchase required instrument supplies, including reeds, valve oil, slide grease, and other essentials
Students who will be using a school-owned instrument may also complete the necessary paperwork and sign out their instrument during the event.
We strongly encourage all families to attend so students are fully prepared for the start of the school year.

Let's just say... EVERYBODY was crispy! 😎🔥 From the fresh haircuts to the hairstyles, our students came ready to show out today!
Right now, we're still working through all the first-day preliminaries...getting forms sent home, learning routines, and making sure everyone is settled in. So, we can't quite turn up like we want to just yet... but give us until Friday! 😄
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to snap many pictures today because, well... y'all know the first day is all hustle and bustle! 🏃🏾♀️📚
So, do us a favor...drop those First Day of School pictures in the comments (if your child actually let you take one! 😂). These middle schoolers are something else! I heard more than a few times today, "I'm not a baby anymore!" 🤣
One more thing, BIG BLUE family...let's remember to check those fits (yes, we mean outfits 😉). We really don't enjoy making dress code calls home, so let's work together to keep everyone looking great and focused on learning.

Parents, don't be alarmed! Our buses are running a little behind today, so there may be some delays getting students home. Rest assured, your students are safe and on their way! 💙

Good morning,
Athletic weightlifting, for athletes that do not have weightlifting for a class, will start next week with the start of school.
Tuesday – Thursday
7:30 AM – 8:10 AM
This will be the schedule for the entire year.
Drop off will be at the front gym entrance of the GHS gym until the end of football season.
Athletes must have a physical on file to participate. Do not bring physicals to us. They have to be uploaded to your Arbiter account.
If you do not have weightlifting class, and you're an athlete, you are expected to be at morning weightlifting.
When weightlifting is over, please refrain from cutting through the school to get to your next location. Do not cut through the courtyard. If you are walking back to GMS, you must walk the edge of the parking lot and along the grass, on the side of the road. Please do not walk through the middle of the parking lot or in the road.

Meet Mr. ALiff!
Craig Aliff is an experienced Physical Education teacher starting his first year at Georgetown Middle School.
For the last 5 years, Craig has been serving as a paraprofessional at North Myrtle Beach Middle School in Horry County. Before moving to South Carolina, Craig served as a Health and PE teacher at every level of public education, including at a juvenile correctional facility and at a community college. In addition, Craig has many years of coaching soccer, where he helped many players develop their skills and techniques as well as their lifelong skills of self-reliance and teamwork among others.
Craig (Coach Aliff) believes his most important responsibility as a teacher is to teach students how to be positive and productive citizens who enjoy participating in healthy physical activities.
Craig is married with 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. Recently, he and his wife adopted a rescue Boxer named Doug, who is taking over their lives. Craig loves to fish, kayak, watch soccer (supports Liverpool FC), play Fortnite badly, and communicate with his Marine brothers from the past. Semper Fi. My favorite anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone as sung by Liverpool FC fans. Finally, as all Mandalorians do, Craig lives by a strict code. This Is the Way.

Meet Mr. Bryant!
Hello everyone! I’m very excited to be joining the Georgetown Middle School Bulldogs. I recently moved to the Myrtle Beach area from Lancaster, SC, where I taught Social Studies and ELA for the past ten years. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Mid Level Education from Winthrop University and my Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning from Francis Marion University. My two favorite hobbies are reading and fishing.
Meet Mr. Bullock!
A little bit about myself: I used to be a broadcast meteorologist for nearly a decade. Then spent the last 4 and a half years at WMBF News in Myrtle Beach. While at WMBF News, I was also a substitute teacher for the Horry County School District on my days off for the last three years. That’s when I realized I have a passion to teach and to inspire others to grow. I’m so excited to be part of the Bulldog Family.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably see me stormchasing around the community.
Meet Mr. Anderson!
Hello! My name is Kevin Anderson, and I am excited to join Georgetown Middle School as a Social Studies teacher, teaching World Geography.
I graduated from Boston College with a degree in Finance and International Studies, and hold a South Carolina Teaching Certificate in 7-12 Social Studies. Over my 25+ year career, I’ve worked throughout the Americas and Europe applying geography and economic principles to create custom solutions for the US Federal Government and some of the largest companies in the world. During this time, I've developed a passion for teaching individuals and growing teams using a hands-on, project-based learning approach, with literacy skill practice being foundational to the classroom. My goal is to create an engaging, inclusive environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported in reaching their full potential.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy exercising, classical drawing and painting, and reading (mostly history!). A fun fact about me is that I grew up and graduated from high school in Venezuela and am fluent in Spanish.
I look forward to partnering with you, your student, and the entire Georgetown Middle School team and having a fantastic school year!
Meet Ms. Massey!
Hello! My name is Jayme Massey, and I am thrilled to be joining the Bulldog family this year! This marks my 27th year in education, and I truly love helping students learn, grow, and build confidence.
I have earned my master's degree in Cross-Cultural Teaching with a specialization in Educational Technology, along with a Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) credential, ESOL certification, and an administrative certification. I LOVE school myself and am currently halfway through my doctorate program. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working with students from diverse backgrounds and creating engaging, supportive classrooms where every student can succeed.
I am originally from California but now call South Carolina home. I live with my fiancé, my daughter, our pug, Gladys, and our bearded dragon, Barbara. In my free time, you'll usually find me at the beach collecting seashells.
I am looking forward to getting to know my students and their families and can't wait for a wonderful school year together. Go Bulldogs!
