The High School Band Director has announced an exciting opportunity for our students! There will be a Color Guard Clinic and Drumline Clinic coming up soon, and it’s the perfect chance for students to learn new skills, meet other band members, and see what all the band excitement is about.
If you are interested in participating, Mr. Bailey is the contact person here at GMS. He will have the registration forms available and will collect them once they are completed.
💲 Clinic Fee: $10
Now listen… if you’ve ever been tapping on the lunch table, beating on the desk, or drumming on pots and pans at home… 👀 this might be your calling! Your parents might actually be happy to see you drum somewhere other than in the kitchen. 😂

Our Bulldogs had the chance to compete in the Coastal Carolina High School Math Competition — and yes, you read that right… MIDDLE SCHOOLERS stepping into a HIGH SCHOOL math arena! 😮 Last year we brought home the WIN 🏆 and while we came up a little short this time, we are still beyond proud of our students for showing up and showing out.
Because let’s be real… math will really humble you real quick — one minute it’s 2 + 2, next thing you know they're asking you to find the square root of your confidence... MATH IS TOUGH. 🤣

Sickness is definitely in the air right now. Please remember to encourage your children to wash their hands often and take care of themselves. We absolutely love having our students at school, but if they are not feeling well, let’s prioritize their health and allow them time to rest and recover before returning.
Right now, Nurse Nesmith is operating like we have a full GMS emergency room, and we want to help lighten that load by keeping our sick babies home until they are well.
We are praying for quick recoveries and healthier days ahead. BIG BLUE, let’s take care of ourselves and each other 💙

Ms. V. Smith presented an amazing opportunity for some of our 6th grade students to visit the International African American Museum. This incredible museum is home to twelve permanent exhibitions, including nine galleries, a Special Exhibitions Gallery that rotates two to three exhibits each year, and ongoing digital exhibitions featured through the Google Arts and Culture platform.
Our students had an absolute blast while learning, exploring, and connecting with powerful history and culture. Experiences like this bring classroom lessons to life in meaningful ways. 📚🌍
A huge thank you to everyone who helped chaperone and support this trip. BIG BLUE continues to create opportunities that matter. 💙🙌
